In order to configure your Android device for use with the 4Guard VPN service, you will need to open your devices Settings menu. The manner in which you do this will vary based on device manufacturer and carrier customizations. If you are unsure of how to get to your Android device's Settings menu, please refer to the user manual that came with your device.
Once you have open the Settings menu, select Wireless and networks.
Scroll down until you see VPN settings, then select that option.
Select Add VPN at the top of the screen.
At this point, you will see several options here for the different protocols you can choose to connect with. The easiest will be PPTP (Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol), so touch on Add PPTP VPN to select that option.
Touch on VPN name. A small dialog box will appear. Enter in the name for your new VPN connection. We suggest 4Guard VPN, but that's just us.
Touch Set VPN server. Another small dialog box will appear. Enter in the name of the VPN router you wish to connecto to. For example, enter us.4guardvpn.com.
Ensure that Enable encryption is checked in the checkbox.
Once you have ensured that all information supplied is accurate, save the connection. You should have received a message similar to "The VPN connection has been added".
Now you can select your 4Guard VPN connection, which will now bring up a prompt for your Username and Password.
Enter in your 4Guard VPN username and password. If you are unsure of your password or username, please login to your Core4 Technologies portal account to retrieve that information.
Once you have supplied your correct username and password, touch on the Connect button. If all is correct, you will be connected to the 4Guard VPN service.
